August 16, 2011

(OPIC) WASHINGTON, D.C. – Elizabeth Littlefield, President and CEO of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), announced today that OPIC would conduct seminars for U.S. small businesses in Orange County, California, and Miami in the fall of 2011 – the latest in a highly-successful series that has to date educated more than 1,200 SME owners nationwide about OPIC products that can help them to expand into lucrative emerging markets.

In an addition to sessions on OPIC products such as political risk insurance and financing, the Expanding Horizons seminars will feature a special session on OPIC support for renewable energy and clean energy technology projects, a priority for the agency. Participants will also benefit from networking sessions and opportunities to meet one-on-one with government officials.

Speakers will include senior government officials from OPIC, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Export-Import Bank of the U.S., the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, and the U.S. Department of Commerce, including the U.S. Commercial Service and the Minority Business Development Agency.

The Orange County seminar will be held September 29 at the DoubleTree Hotel Anaheim in Orange. The Miami seminar will be held October 26 at the Hilton Miami Airport. Companies interested in attending may register online at www.rgameetings.com/opic.

Since 2006, OPIC has held Expanding Horizons workshops in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, Houston, San Francisco, Boston, St. Louis, Denver and Philadelphia.
