CURITIBA, BRAZIL – The U.S. Trade and Development Agency awarded a grant to
Companhia de Saneamento do Paraná (SANEPAR), a water utility in the Brazilian
State of Paraná, supporting the development of a water reuse facility.
The feasibility study will identify initial plant requirements and best suited
technologies, provide initial designs, and assess the best rate structure for
produced water. Urban expansion has posed challenges for some Brazilian water
utilities in recent years and this project will help to provide alternative
sources for industrial users.
“USTDA appreciates the opportunity to partner with SANEPAR on this important
project that will support the development of a water reuse facility,” said
USTDA’s Director, Congressional and Public Affairs, Thomas R. Hardy, “At the
same time, this project will create commercial and technology opportunities for
U.S. companies.”
U.S. businesses interested in submitting proposals for this USTDA-funded
technical assistance should visit the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO)
website at www.fbo.gov. A link
to the FBO announcement will be posted to USTDA’s website at https://www.ustda.gov/business-opportunities.
