João Pessoa, BRAZIL – The U.S. Trade and Development Agency awarded a grant
to the Paraíba State Data Processing Company (CODATA) supporting broadband
network expansion and information and communications technologies upgrades in
Paraíba. The technical assistance will help increase broadband access and
digital inclusion across the state.
The USTDA funded technical assistance will lay the necessary groundwork to
support CODATA’s efforts including reviewing data center models, defining
required technologies, reviewing expansion plans, proposing expansion models,
and developing an integration plan for local data centers.
This project will create market access and export opportunities for U.S.
companies. Potential exports include consulting, engineering, and security
technology services, as well as servers, storage devices, switches, routers
fiber broadband equipment, and CPUs.
“We are pleased to work with CODATA on this important project to expand
broadband access and enhance the connectivity across the state,” said USTDA
Director, Congressional and Public Affairs, Thomas R. Hardy. “We look forward
to seeing the positive results that will come from this project.”
U.S. businesses interested in submitting proposals for this USTDA-funded
technical assistance should visit the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO)
website at www.fbo.gov. A link
to the FBO announcement will be posted to USTDA’s website at https://www.ustda.gov/business-opportunities.
